** Denotes a screwup. So this broadcast had more than a couple. The CD for MERCYFUL FATE The Old Oak would not play at all the first time I tried and then started skipping. Throw that one out. I'll do my best to remedy the situation with that track soon. Then the ELECTRIC WIZARD track cut off early. Probably just needs a good wiping off. Still it was unexpected and made for a tense moment.

Everything went smoothly enough as far as the music goes. No equipment malfunctions. I, on the other hand, was way off my game. It clearly was not a shining moment in my broadcasting career. Nothing major, I just thought I was sloppier than usual. And I mispronounced "Shemhamforash". That is a bit of a tough one though. Okay, smooth show. It's a wonder because I was running late and didn't have as much time for preparation as I would normally. Two bands debuted right off the bat ; WHITE WIZZARD and OAK IS KEEPING. WHITE WIZZARD remind me of Dokken circa "Tooth And Nail" but that's not all they bring to the table with them. According to Blabbermouth.Net they are working on their first full-legnth CD. While OAK IS KEEPING, a band based out of Austin , Texas, are one of those timeless hard rock bands. I'd liken them to Soundgarden or maybe Queens Of The Stoneage, but they really don't sound like either band. They sound like a fresh take on vintage hard rock. Keep your eyes and ears out for both of them. Join me again next week.

FASCIANA To Detractors: 'Believe What You Want! I'm Going To Band Practice! I Have A Life!' - July 9, 2009
MALEVOLENT CREATION guitarist Phil Fasciana has released another statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET in response to criticism over his claim that he was involved in a bizarre shootout at a convenient store in Florida on July 3, 2009.
In two separate e-mails to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Fasciana claimed that he interrupted a store robbery which led to him being shot at four times before he was able to disarm the "homeless crackhead" and pump two bullets into the thug's head.
Commenting on Fasciana's claims, Detective Mark Shotwell of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department told U.K.'s Rock Radio that he's unable to find evidence that any such event ever took place.
"This did not happen," Shotwell said. "Our last murder was on June 22 and Fasciana was not involved. I'm certain of this. Even if the death was a result of self-defense, it would still be classed as a homicide and investigated as such.
"All witnesses, reportees, victims and suspects are entered into a database, but the most recent entry for Fasciana is on April 1, involving him and a female in a domestic dispute.
"There are about 15 suburbs near Fort Lauderdale, but all murders use the Broward County Medical Examiner's office for autopsies — mandatory in a homicide. There have been no murders in the entire county during July."
Fasciana sent the following e-mail to BLABBERMOUTH.NET earlier today (Thursday, July 9):
"Concerning this idiotic debate over my involvement in an attempted robbery and shootout, I wish everyone would believe it is not true and leave me the fuck alone.
"For all the retards who hide behind a computer all day at mommy's house and talk shit about rumors on Blabbermouth and other heavy metal-related websites, you need to get a life!!!! Get out of the house and maybe someone will try robbing and shooting you one day!!!! Then I would like to hear your reaction!!!
"I never posted or told anyone but my brother about what happened to me afterwards. Why would I post something that horrible on Blabbermouth or anywhere on the Internet and have people know what I had just gone through? I found out by friends a day later that they read that news about on Blabbermouth. Why and who posted, I have no idea and it has nothing to do with music or my band, so why it would be on a website that is and used to be about finding out information about heavy metal bands and the news concerning the bands that have news to release about there bands future happenings and releases. MALEVOLENT CREATION guitarist Phil Fasciana has released another statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET in response to criticism over his claim that he was involved in a bizarre shootout at a convenient store in Florida on July 3, 2009.
In two separate e-mails to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Fasciana claimed that he interrupted a store robbery which led to him being shot at four times before he was able to disarm the "homeless crackhead" and pump two bullets into the thug's head.
Commenting on Fasciana's claims, Detective Mark Shotwell of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department told U.K.'s Rock Radio that he's unable to find evidence that any such event ever took place.
"This did not happen," Shotwell said. "Our last murder was on June 22 and Fasciana was not involved. I'm certain of this. Even if the death was a result of self-defense, it would still be classed as a homicide and investigated as such.
"All witnesses, reportees, victims and suspects are entered into a database, but the most recent entry for Fasciana is on April 1, involving him and a female in a domestic dispute.
"There are about 15 suburbs near Fort Lauderdale, but all murders use the Broward County Medical Examiner's office for autopsies — mandatory in a homicide. There have been no murders in the entire county during July."
Fasciana sent the following e-mail to BLABBERMOUTH.NET earlier today (Thursday, July 9):

U.K.'s Rock Radio spoke to a homicide detective at the Fort Lauderdale Police Department about MALEVOLENT CREATION guitarist Phil Fasciana's claim that he was involved in a bizarre shootout at a convenient store in Fort Lauderdale on July 3, 2009.
In two separate e-mails to BLABBERMOUTH.NET (Story#1, Story#2), Fasciana claimed that he interrupted a store robbery which led to him being shot at four times before he was able to disarm the "homeless crackhead" and pump two bullets into the thug's head.
Fasciana told BLABBERMOUTH.NET: "When I walked into that store to buy something, I had no idea the store was in the middle of being robbed. I immediately felt something was wrong when I walked in, because it was very quiet and the man working behind the counter was staring at me like I was gonna rob the store. When that 80-pound homeless crackhead yelled at me and pointed his gun at me and fired four shots at me, I thought I was surely dead and had no time to react! After realizing I was not hit, I slowly crawled around to the back of the store, and while the gunman was screaming at the worker, I ran down the isle he was in and tackled him with the intention of beating the living shit out of him.
"When I tackled him and starting beating the shit out of him with the dude working there, he dropped the gun and I grabbed it. I had no intention of shooting him until he reached for another gun in his sneaker and looked at me, and before he got the chance to shoot at me again, that's when I shot him in the face two times and put an end to that whole nightmare!
"By no means am I a hero. I could have easily just ran out of the store like a pussy after realizing I was not shot and left the store worker to most likely get killed, but I was so pissed I just wanted to beat the fuck out of that loser who just tried to end my life over nothing. Anyone in my situation may have done the same thing, but nobody knows when something like that could happen to yourself or how to react just like me.
"I have a lot of personal family problems that are far worse then what I just went through and asked the police if it was possible to keep this story from getting in the press and having my dying father and grandfather have to know about something like that happening to me."

Body: I recieved word today that www.WAWL.org will not be streaming over the internet, from pole to pole, as they say until Monday morning 7-13-09.
The reason for this remains unclear. Something about there not being enough personel. There's no Broadcast Announcing class during the Summer so of course there's gonna be fewer "DJ's", doesn't take a college education to figure that one out.
But there are several unique programs that air every week. Programs that none of the FM band radio stations here in Chattanooga offer. The fact is that www.WAWL.org offers an incredible variety of music. Not only is it an official CMJ Alternative college radio station, you can also hear Local artists, Reggae, World Music, Southern Rock, and the Metal show I host every Monday. That's only scratching the surface.
But on to the point, I will be bringing the Metal in a major way this Monday at 5pm EST. METAL EMPIRE will feature the latest by acts such as VOIVOD, DREAM THEATRE, OBITUARY, HEAVEN & HELL, etc. as well as classics we've not played before. OZZY OSBOURNE: 'The BLACK SABBATH Trademark Should Be Owned By The Four Of Us Equally' - May 29, 2009
Ozzy Osbourne has filed a lawsuit against his BLACK SABBATH bandmate Tony Iommi, claiming that Iommi illegally took sole ownership of the band's name in a filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.Osbourne is suing Iommi for a 50 percent interest in the "Black Sabbath" trademark, along with a portion of Iommi's profits from use of the name.The Manhattan federal court suit also charges that Osbourne's "signature lead vocals" are largely responsible for the band's "extraordinary success," noting that its popularity plummeted during his absence from 1980 through 1996.In a statement released this afternoon (Friday, May 29), Ozzy says about his decision to sue Iommi, "It is with great regret that I had to resort to legal action against my long-term partner Tony Iommi, but after three years of trying to resolve this issue amicably, I feel I have no other recourse. "As of the mid-1990s, after constant and numerous changes in band members, the brand of 'BLACK SABBATH' was literally in the toilet and Tony Iommi (touring under the name BLACK SABBATH) was reduced to performing in clubs. Since 1997, when Geezer [Butler, bass], Bill [Ward, drums] and myself rejoined the band, BLACK SABBATH has returned to its former glory as we headlined sold-out arenas and amphitheatres playing to upwards of 50,000 people at each show around the world. We worked collectively to restore credibility and bring dignity back to the name 'BLACK SABBATH,' which led to the band being inducted into the U.K. and U.S. Rock And Roll Hall of Fames in 2005 and 2006, respectively. "Throughout the last 12 years, it was my management representatives who oversaw the marketing and quality control of the 'BLACK SABBATH' brand through Ozzfest, touring, merchandising and album reissues. The name 'BLACK SABBATH' now has a worldwide prestige and merchandising value that it would not have had by continuing on the road it was on prior to the 1997 reunion tour. "Tony, I am so sorry it's had to get to this point by me having to take this action against you. I don't have the right to speak for Geezer and Bill, but I feel that morally and ethically the trademark should be owned by the four of us equally. I hope that by me taking this first step that it will ultimately end up that way. We've all worked too hard and long in our careers to allow you to sell merchandise that features all our faces, old BLACK SABBATH album covers and band logos, and then you tell us that you own the copyright. Ronnie is 100 percent involved in both the musical side and the vocal side, and he writes his own lyrics as well."Butler added that Osbourne didn't take him seriously as a songwriter, saying, "If we were with Ozzy and I came in with the killer riff of all time, Ozzy wouldn't even think of doing it because I'm not the guitarist and that's the way he thinks . . .
